About Mulberry Retrievers

At Mulberry Retrievers, our dogs are family. They share our home, our adventures, and our everyday lives, growing up alongside our three children and filling our home with wagging tails, muddy paws, and plenty of laughter. Every puppy is raised right here in our home with individual attention, early socialization, and the love and care we believe every dog deserves. We started in 2010 in central Ohio and moved our family to North Pole Alaska in 2022.

Our goal is simple: to produce healthy, well-rounded Golden Retrievers and Labrador Retrievers with the kind, dependable temperaments that make exceptional lifelong companions. We thoughtfully plan each litter with health, temperament, and breed type in mind. Every breeding dog completes the health testing recommended by their breed's parent club, including OFA evaluations and genetic testing, because we believe responsible breeding begins long before puppies are born.

We love participating in conformation and Fast CAT, not simply for titles, but because they help us evaluate our breeding program and preserve the qualities that make these breeds so special. While we enjoy these activities, our greatest pride comes from raising retrievers that are just as happy curled up beside their families as they are in the show ring, on a hiking trail, or doing the work they were bred to do.

From their earliest days, our puppies are raised using Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and are introduced to the everyday sights, sounds, and routines of family life. Our goal is to give every puppy the best possible start before they head home to their own families.

Sara’s love for retrievers began at a young age, inspired by her grandfather, who bred Labrador Retrievers for more than four decades. What started as a childhood passion has grown into a family endeavor that we're grateful to share with others. Sara & Eric along with their children all enjoy raising loving companions and sharing these wonderful breeds with other families.

When you welcome a Mulberry Retriever puppy into your home, you're becoming part of our extended family. We love celebrating milestones, seeing photos as our puppies grow, and being a resource throughout their lives. If circumstances ever change, we will always welcome one of our dogs back—because every puppy we bring into the world is our responsibility for life.
